I am trying without success to configure an EAP-3660 as a multi-SSID repeater, involving one Engenius AP running B and one Actiontec MI424WR running G on separate subnets.
Clients on both networks can see the EAP-3660 but do not associate and no traffic passes. I have the respective MAC addresses of the two APs in the EAP-3660 WDS setup menu, but no joy.
The Engenius setup manual is void of references to multi-SSID and the "Spanning Tree" menu (if that's even relevant).
Thanks. |

Thanks. That's certainly not clear from the Engenius sales pitch.
Does the EAP-3660 support universal repeater mode?
Any ramifications to two distinct subnets, one operating on B, one on G, broadcasting the same SSID in close proximity? |

I have a campground with 2 meeting halls 500 feet apart. These 2 buildings have line of sight to a second floor corner of each building.
Building A has a cable modem upstairs and meeting rooms on the first and second floor.
Building B has a meeting room on the first floor.
I would like to use an eap-3660 on the upper floor of Building A to provide wireless G coverage to both floors and an eap-3660 to provide wireless G on the first floor of building B.
Building A will need a router as well. I want all 600 MW equipment if possible.
Do you think the eap-3660 has enough range between them to cover the 500 feet, or do I need a point to point solution such as the EOC2610 as well?
If necessary, there is a building in between the two meeting halls where I could use a third eap3660, if that is a better solution than the EOC2610. Remember I want coverage to surrounding buildings if possible.
as a side benefit, there are groups of dorms around the meeting halls in about a 300 feet radius that we would like to cover.
I am trying to keep my costs in the $400 range. I realize that may not be possible, but I need to stay as close as possible to that. |

Would 2 of these (EOR7550) with the directional antenna and the ESR-1221 router do the trick, rather than the two EAP-3660's?

I have light tree cover (just a few limbs) in the line of sight from the 2 upper corners of the building. I was thinking with the built in omni antenna for the AP, I could cover the meeting rooms plus a bit of the area around each one to hopefully encompass the housing areas, since the 7550's would be mounted on the second floor.
Which setup do you feel would do the best job?
Availability would be an issue as well, as I would likely be placing the order within the next day or so. |

The eor-7550's would work but my idea would be better.
Everything is in stock either way.
