Yes WDS is supported with another eoc-2610 in all encryption modes with static keys IE WEP, WPA and PEA2 pre shared key

http://www.keenansystems.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=251

Here is some more info on WDS always getting questions

WDS may be incompatible between different products (even occasionally from the same vendor) as it is not certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance

I now use a 3220 mounted to my RV. I point it at the campground AP (no encryption), then use bridged mode with repeater. I setup my own SSID and connect to that with my laptop. problem is everybody near me also connects to my SSID and uses up all my bandwidth.

With this new 2610, can I set it up the same way in bridged mode (pointing at the campground AP that I do not have control over), only now setup a SSID for the repeater mode that has encryption so only I can use it?

I have not hooked it up yet, but in some of my other applications I am looking forward to playing with Vlan tagging and different SSID's

The EOC-2610 does not have universal wireless repeater yet like the eoc-3220. It does have WDS repeater so it can repeate with another EOC-2610.

You would need to configure the eoc-2610 as a bridge or use the client router configuration

http://keenansystems.com/engenius_eoc-2610_eoc1650_bridge_router_configuration.htm

you could then plug in another eoc-2610 to broadcast a local signal and you could encrypt that SSID.

With the 3220 going away, is there anything else that will be able to do universal wireless repeater?

I currently use the 2610. The desktop and AP are in building one. In building two we use various laptops. Building two is a wood frame metal roof building appox. 400 feet away, there are also numerous trees between the buildings. While I can connect each time, the connection is poor and sometimes freezes. Downloading streaming video and large files are a real problem.

I have set the AP at 30km, and it is pointed at building two.
Is there any way to get a better connection? External antenna? The laptops in building two are totally portable, used in the building and yard as well so they can't be hard wired to anything.

To go through dense tree cover you would need a higher gain directional antenna like this one

and pigtail

out of curiousity i just set up 2 eoc-2610's one as an access point and the other as a client bridge..the units are approx 100 feet apart. when i first set them up i was getting a constant -73 to -79 dbm signal strength for a couple of weeks then out of no where for the past week it has been -39 to -43 dbm. is this good bad or is there a certain range this needs to be in? the units are in clear line of site no obstructions and 10ft off the ground. im impressed with this unit so far i just want to get all i can out of it.
thanks james

Yes we have a report for 20 mile range this week the user has a 150 foot tower on both sides and a RF line of sight professionally installed.

I have a marina wifi set up in which I'd like to deploy the EOC2610 to replace some d-link AP's that were vandalized. The primary AP is an amplified D-link 624 router with an antenna mounted 25ft above the boat basin. Line of sight is good, but some of the pier roofs will obscure the bridge units' antennas at low tide. I had the dlink 2100 and 2200 AP's configured in dlink's "repeater" mode. I'm planning on replacing the AP's at the end of each pier (4 ea)with the 2610's, since I already have the power boxes upper under the roof (poe won't have to go more than 30ft) Should I configure the 2610's in client router or the new WDS repeater mode? The 2610's will be the only scondary access points in the network, with the Dlink 624 plugged directly into the cable modem.

Thanks -.bryan
